ABOUT JACOB VOELZKE

Jacob Voelzke
Mad Chops Media was founded by Jacob Voelzke, who has worn several hats across multiple facets of the entertainment industry and has been recognized for his accomplishments for over a decade. Jacob found his roots in live music, working professionally as a front of house engineer as early as age 14. Jacob’s passion for music drove him to pursue an Associate of Science degree in Recording Arts from Full Sail University in 2004, and he skipped his graduation ceremony to immediately begin touring with the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus as a Producer and Engineer.

During his 3-year tenure with the John Lennon Bus, Jacob had the opportunity to work with countless artists as both a music video director and a recording engineer, including Fergie, Black Eyed Peas, Don Felder, Macy Gray, Paramore, Buddy Miles, Yoko Ono, and dozens more, and he directed and edited promotional videos for NAMM, Propellerhead Software, Ableton, Elixir Strings, and several other major music industry-relevant companies. Jacob left the John Lennon Bus in 2008 to give birth to Mad Chops Media, and has since provided services for high-profile clients such as Apple Computers, Verizon, and Natasha Bedingfield, and has provided creative, production and post-production services for several feature films, webisodes, commercials, television shows, and more.

ABOUT CHRIS BUCH

Chris Buch
Chris Buch first found his passion for the arts at an early age, and began writing his own material at age 5. Obsessed with history and mythology, his writing became his focus for most of his young life. As he started to focus on music in his teens, Chris was never satisfied with the quality of their sound during performances, so he started his own live production sound reinforcement company, Paradox Productions, when he was only 17. Featuring a full set of modular speaker towers and matching monitors, Paradox Productions was a freelance company able to provide incredibly clean, full, and rich sound for a variety of bands, DJ’s, and theatre groups across the Midwest.

Never fully satisfied by dominating one genre, Chris then decided to relocate to Florida and attend Full Sail University, where over the following two years he learned the film industry from the ground up. Spanning all the facets of filmmaking, from Set Construction to Makeup to Photography, he absorbed the information like a sponge. Graduating in the top of his class, Chris earned a Bachelor of Science in Film, and set his sights on a new horizon.

Chris moved to Los Angeles in the fall of 2007, in the midst of the uncertainty during the writers strike. The film industry was in upheaval, and the old concepts of filmmaking in general were being tossed out and remade. But where many people have tried and failed under the often harsh Hollywood rule, Chris thrived and has worked on a wide variety of independent projects spanning the web, big screen, and television as a production sound mixer. In his time he has been able to work with several notables, including Jane Lynch, Tom Sizemore, Sylvester Stallone, C. Thomas Howell, Bea Arthur, Billy Baldwin, Hank Azaria, Ken Jeong, and Norman Lear, among others.

Going back to his roots in writing, Chris is now in the process of developing several scripts, most notably Damaged Goods. Working with long time friend and business partner Jacob Voelzke, Chris helps run Mad Chops Media as a producer, writer, and director.
